It seems like every day there’s a news story about how the housing market is declining. MBS Highway knows better. Their latest survey shows that despite what you’re reading in all those newspapers and online articles – homes are still worth buying.
Media housing market doom and gloom aside, there is a lot of misinformation being spread around about housing. The MBS Highway survey of 3,000 mortgage and housing professionals across the country proves that the media doesn’t know what they’re talking about when it comes to real estate trends.
66% of those surveyed said that the market was active or very active in their local area. Many of these professionals said the cause of any slows was lack of inventory rather than waning demand. Multiple offers are still happening even if less than previously. There are still more buyers than sellers and predictions are that real estate will continue to appreciate in value over the next year. The mortgage market it still bustling with activity.

Key takeaways; only 23% of those surveyed saw a slow down in sales or reduced prices and 77% said the pace of sales was rapid to normal.
So the bottom line – housing continues to be a great investment, and buyers are still actively seeking mortgages and homes across the country in volume.
